I'm attempting to update Windows 10 to The update failed with the error message "The inbox storage driver iastora. I have upgraded the driver accordingly see attached screenshot , and rebooted the machine afterwards, but still receive the same error. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, and attempting the upgrade with the driver uninstalled, but receive the same error message no matter what version of this driver is installed, or indeed if it is installed at all.

After receiving your suggestions, I used the Intel Driver Utility and found that the only drivers needing an update were Bluetooth and the wireless card. I performed these updates, but have not attempted to update Windows again. I do not believe these changes will have any impact. I am not ready to go through the torture of a clean install, especially since I believe that even that will stop because of the iastora. What I believe is required is a workaround for this particular problem.

Seems like a very elegant solution and is consistent with my thought that iaStorA. But, I need a bit more info to implement it. Renaming is a security for you, when you'll install the last RST after the Windows 10 update , the four files will be the last and you'll be able to delete the renamed files.
Thanks for the clarification. Did it the correct way and it worked like a charm. Interestingly, the Windows update reinstalled the iaStorA. Do I need to reinstall the driver? System manufacturers regularly customize Intel generic drivers to meet the needs of their specific system design; use of the Intel generic driver update is not recommended.
